Richardson finished his third NFL season on injured reserve, where he spent most of the year with an orbital fracture. Richardson will enter the final year of his rookie deal in 2026. The Colts have to decide whether or not to pick up his fifth-year option for the 2027 season.

The Indianapolis Colts have had some exceptional quarterbacks in their history. Two of those went No. 1 overall in their respective drafts: Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck. Riley Leonard did not go first overall. Leonard was the No. 189 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. That's in the sixth round.
