ARIZONA ( ABC4) — A multi-vehicle crash near the Utah-Arizona border sent two people to the hospital on Monday morning.

Tobe Awaka and Jaden Bradley each scored 18 points and No. 1 Arizona cruised past Utah 97-78 on Saturday to remain undefeated.

Each time, Arizona had an answer, but Utah’s fight was evident. Terrence Brown led the Utah charge with 26 points, a team-high six assists and four rebounds. McHenry added 15 points, four rebounds and two steals and Keanu Dawes, the lone Ute with Big 12 experience, had 15 points, nine rebounds, two assists, two blocks and a steal.

After Arizona took its biggest lead, a 70-46 advantage with just under 14 minutes left in the second half, Utah scored eight straight to trim Arizona’s lead to 16 points before an and-one from Awaka and subsequent 3 from Dwayne Aristode created more separation.

Not only did Awaka lead the way in scoring for Arizona, but he also showcased a new wrinkle in his game, knocking down 2 three-pointers in the win. Awaka had only attempted 3 shots from beyond the arc all season prior to the matchup with Utah, and only made 2 three-pointers all of last season.

Weird things have happened to Arizona in Salt Lake City in recent years. In 2022, an unbeaten Wildcats squad fresh off a dominant performance at the Maui Invitational laid an egg against Utah, and two years later the UA needed triple overtime to get past the Utes.

On a day when a couple other Big 12 powers fell, Arizona didn’t let Utah entertain any of those ideas. Earlier in the day, No. 17 Kansas was tripped up 81-75 by UCF and Baylor fell 69-63 to TCU (both the Jayhawks and Bears were on the road).

No. 1 Arizona used a 12-0 run to quickly put distance on the home Utes, who were outmatched in every way Saturday afternoon against the undefeated Wildcats.
