The first AP Top 25 college basketball poll of 2026 featured little shakeup at the very top, with Arizona and Michigan holding firm at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively. However, after there was no poll last week due to the lack of teams playing, plenty of movement in the middle took place.

Arizona holds onto the No. 1 spot in the AP Top 25 by a single point over Michigan. This marks one of the closest races in the poll's 78-year history.

It's the first Sunday of the month so let's look at the national NET rankings for women's basketball as provided by the NCAA. The NET rankings are used by the NCAA Tournament selection Committee to help determine seedings and at-large berths.

For the first time since Week 1, BYU has moved up in the AP Top 25 poll. Following a 10-point road win over Kansas State this past weekend, the Cougars came in at No. 9 in Monday’s updated rankings.
