The future of Detroit Lions running back David Montgomery is up in the air. Prior to the 2025 season, the talented running back quipped he hoped that fans did not forget about him, as he clearly noticed the increased support for Jahmyr Gibbs.

The Atlanta Falcons have started their interview process, formally speaking with Detroit Lions chief operating officer Mike Disner for their newly created president of football position on Thursday. Disner has spent the last seven seasons working in the Lions front office.

On Tuesday, the Detroit Lions announced the firing of offensive coordinator John Morton. Morton spent just one season in the role, and Morton was replaced less than halfway through the season when Lions head coach Dan Campbell assumed offensive play-calling responsibilities in early November.

The Detroit Lions have holes to fill on the roster for next season. Several 2026 NFL free agents could be a match for Brad Holmes and Dan Campbell.
