NWS Dodge City warned that snow will fall throughout much of the day on Friday, with a winter weather advisory in place from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. local time. Between 1 and 4 inches of snow is expected for the cities of Hugoton, Ulysses, Elkhart, Liberal, and Johnson City.

Scotland is set to be battered by snow storms again this weekend, as the wintry start to 2026 shows little sign of letting up.

Local resident Sarah Johnson, 66, told BBC Scotland News that a lot of people had not been able to get out at all.

Parts of the country are still reeling from Storm Goretti, which caused school closures, left homes without power and caused widespread travel disruption.

English villages are at risk of being cut off by heavy snow dumped by Storm Goretti tonight after communities across Scotland were trapped and unable to leave their homes.

A further 2-5cm of snow is possible to accumulate at low levels within the warning area on Sunday, with 10-20cm possible over higher ground.
